Recently, the Iraq Customs Authority announced the successful receipt of its first international transit shipment. The goods, originating from the Islamic Republic of Iran, entered Iraq via the Shalamcheh border crossing and were transported to Kuwait through the Safwan border crossing. The entire journey adhered to the TIR Convention and utilized internationally recognized Jointech electronic seals and a cargo tracking system, marking a significant step forward for Iraq in the field of international transportation and logistics.
The Iraq Customs Authority adapted Jointech’s GPS electronic seals as a key tool to enhance security monitoring during cross-border transportation. This system enables real-time tracking of shipments through electronic seals, ensuring the integrity and security of each shipment from its point of origin to its destination.
